Social networks platform abuse by the NSA

EN: The New Scientist revealed [1] the funding of research for using social network platform as basis for person prolifing by the National Security Agency. The author of the article assumes that the semantic web will make this abuse of this rich data sources much easier.

It’s again a shame how the state fools people in the name of fighing terror. I just recently played around with some social network services and it was fun to find and contact people I haven’t seen for a while. Sure, there was always the possibility that my data is abused but this scale is just frightening. I just hope that european politicians get aware of this and don’t do the same mistake.
